Underwater rainbows If the sea is calm and your diving shallow, the sunlight can hit the water in such a way that the individual waves act as prisms: separating the component parts of the light. This casts an undulating and endless series of rainbows onto the sea floor. It's difficult to capture with a camera and the videos don't do it justice. In a word, it is serene.
